1) Santa fills the stocking and Little Miss gets 3 presents because the Wise Men gave baby Jesus 3 presents, or
2) 4 gifts: something she wants, something she needs, something to read, and something to wear
At some point in the near, near future (maybe the Christmas she's 4?), we're going to start weeding out toys together before Christmas to give to kids who don't have a lot for Christmas. That's a win-win as far as I'm concerned - teaches compassion and giving AND declutters our house!
But back to THIS Christmas. Mommy may have gone a TAD overboard stocking away gifts for Christmas. That's what happens when you start months in advance - you forget what all you put away until you're trying to wrap it all!
Little Miss got way more than she needs and probably way more than she can play with for Christmas this year. I did start going through toys. Some are now in the toy box to rotate later, some are in the donate pile, and some are put away for the future.
Some of her bigger/most favorite gifts from us: a Merida doll (which she carted around all day on the 23rd when we let her open one present), a Little People Disney Princess Castle, a toy cash register, a toy purse with pretend lipstick, a basic figure-8 train set, and a Dora DVD.
It was a fun Christmas now that she gets the concept of "my presents" although she doesn't get the concept that there aren't piles of presents every day forever! She keeps asking to open more! She was so funny on Christmas morning. She got out of her crib asking for yogurt as always UNTIL she walked in the living room:
She had a blast opening presents (with her new safety scissors) and eating cookies on Christmas morning!
